Many people have a close relationship with their pets. These people treat their birds, cats, or other animals as members of their family. In your opinion, are such relationships good? Why or why not? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

In the modern society, more and more people rather to raise a pet instead of having a marital relationship. They treat their pet as close friends, beloved children, even as a spouse. We can easily meet people who walk their pets (most of them are dogs) on the street, to see masters interact with their own pets intimately. I, also an owner with three cats as my pets, hold a positive attitude toward this relationship.

The relationship between me and cats is both close family members and friends. I treat them as children; even I am far beyond the suitable age for marriage. Taking care of their daily life becomes a heavy but sweet responsibility. To watch them grow is worth anticipating. When having sadness or happiness or secret, I always share those with them and do not worry about leaking them out. To me, they are not only pets, but loyal friends who will never betray me.

Pet could also means a sort of soul support of owners. Many of people who raise pets treat them as the way I do. Their emotion changes from melancholy to joyful just because their pets please them considerately. Many seniors rely on the pet because it is their sole companion. Grown- up children who live apart from home for job or education make seniors feel lonely. Pets accompany them make them feel less lonely. They stay together tightly all day long and share daily chores with each other. Pets did not merely mean” animal”, can also mean a companion, new families, even a doctor for people.

Moreover, people with pets would think twice about the issue relevant to animals. They would easily show empathy of other endangered animal to protect them. For example, many cat lover protest against “cat meal” in Kuang-Tong state in China where eating cat is common there. Cat lovers describe the horrible consequence if their beloved cat was killed to prepare the meal. Therefore, they often express the idea against cat- eating habit via media such as newspaper, websites and magazines.

Fur garment is an recent issue of animal protection People protest against such kind of garment because it needs to kill uncountable animals for their soft fur.
